Supersaurus is a diplodocid sauropod dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of North America, estimated to reach lengths of 33–34 meters, making it one of the longest dinosaurs ever. Its fossils were initially confused with those of Seismosaurus, leading to long-standing taxonomic confusion. After detailed study, Supersaurus was recognized as a valid, distinct genus within Diplodocoidea, though different from the genus *Diplodocus*. Supersaurus had exceptionally elongated cervical vertebrae, each exceeding 1.3 meters in length. It inhabited floodplain environments of the Morrison Formation and coexisted with other large sauropods such as Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, and Apatosaurus. The coexistence of so many giant sauropods was made possible by their differing feeding heights and dietary preferences.
