The skin material fundamentally affects an animatronic dinosaur appearance, durability, maintenance requirements, and cost. Understanding material properties helps buyers select the optimal option.

Silicone Case

Silicone is the premium choice for animatronic dinosaurs. It offers exceptional flexibility for movement, realistic texture and translucency, UV resistance, waterproofing, and temperature tolerance from -30C to 80C. Lifespan exceeds 10 years with proper care.

Fiberglass Shell

Fiberglass provides rigid, lightweight shells ideal for static poses or limited-movement models. Excellent weather resistance and structural strength make it suitable for permanent outdoor installations. Lower cost than silicone but unsuitable for complex articulation.

Latex Rubber

Traditional latex was the original animatronic skin material. It offers good flexibility at low cost but degrades faster than silicone under UV exposure. Still used for budget projects and short-term installations.
